Which passport should I choose?

Currently, our state provides a pleasant right to choose between two types of foreign passports:

How to obtain a passport for pensioners?

The processing time for passports is one month. This period is guaranteed if the application is submitted at the place of registration:

upon personal appeal to the Main Directorate for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia;
in the MFC;
on the State Services portal.

Registration through the Ministry of Internal Affairs or MFC

The applicant submits documents with a completed application form to the Main Directorate for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. It indicates the type of document being drawn up and the applicant’s details. After a month, you can pick up the finished ID card.

The form must be filled out by hand in block letters. Use a black or blue pen. Be sure to fill out all items without corrections, erasures or unofficial abbreviations.

In addition to the departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, documents for foreigners are accepted by multifunctional centers. When contacting this institution, you will also need the originals of all documents. In this case, the form can be filled out by MFC employees. The pensioner only needs to provide the necessary information.

The finished foreigner will have to be picked up at the MFC. When ordering a biometric document, you will still have to visit the Main Department of Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia to submit biometric data and take photographs.

How to apply for a foreign passport through State Services?

The discount is provided exclusively for non-cash payment. The State Services portal offers several options: by bank card, electronic money or from a mobile phone account. The validity period of a biometric passport is twice as long as a paper one and is 10 years;

The procedure for obtaining a biometric foreign passport is longer than the old one.

What documents are required for a passport for pensioners?

To obtain a foreign passport for pensioners you must:

– identification document (passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation);

– pension certificate;

– application form. The application can be filled out manually according to the established form, on a computer and through the State Services portal, having registered in it in advance. The application must not contain inaccuracies, errors or omissions;

- photos;

– a receipt confirming the pensioner’s payment of the state fee;

– foreign passport (if the applicant has one);

– work book (for a non-working pensioner, the original is required).

If you wish to issue a foreign passport in an expedited manner, you must attach a document corresponding to the situation to the package of documents:

– a copy of the death certificate of a close relative;

– a copy of a medical report confirming the deterioration of the health of a close relative located in another country;

– original medical report confirming the need for treatment abroad.
