Emigration to the Czech Republic from Russia

Salaries, taxes and social contributions

In principle, Czech salaries are quite high.
Only, according to “rough” calculations, approximately 30% of all earnings are spent on various social contributions (say, health insurance), paying taxes and other mandatory monthly payments. This leaves a very limited amount of money. But large families actually have the opportunity to save on mandatory taxes.
The state reduces the interest rate depending on the number of children supported by their parents.

Residence permit upon company registration

In Russia this would be called a residence permit for an individual entrepreneur. A person wants to come and stay in the Czech Republic to register and open his own company. This method of obtaining a residence permit in the Czech Republic is the most popular and in demand among Russian immigrants. Moreover, we are talking not only about registering fictitious offices just for paperwork and legal presence in the country, but actually about a really working organization.

The Czech Republic has created very favorable conditions for doing private business. Transparent schemes, a feasible tax burden, a well-developed credit infrastructure - all this makes the republic an excellent platform for the implementation of startups.

In addition, registering your own company in the Czech Republic is the first step towards purchasing your own home. When purchasing real estate, you cannot automatically obtain a residence permit. But the fact of owning an apartment or house will play into your hands if you have other necessary documents that will allow you to legally stay in the Czech Republic for a long time.

A special document that will confirm to the Ministry of Internal Affairs employees the need for your long-term stay in the Czech Republic will be confirmation of the registration of your own company.

Housing

“Old-timers” of Czech cities once “got on the bandwagon” and bought houses and apartments on the cheap, forming some kind of mini-hotels. Today, such “entrepreneurs” successfully rent out their real estate and receive a stable and constant income from this. But again, we must not forget about paying taxes and all the technical features that must comply with building codes. In addition, all residents of the house can make personal claims, so tenants are obliged to maintain silence, and landlords monitor this.

Residence permit for training

As a rule, only higher education institutions are considered, and visitors are assigned student status. Education in the Czech Republic is one of the most accessible and high-quality for Russian youth. The level is the same as in Europe, the diploma is quoted on the international market, and the conditions and prices are more than attractive. If you have a student visa, you can only study in the Czech Republic. This type of visa does not give you the right to work. But foreigners who have been in this status in the country for a long time, know the language very well and have adapted well, at the same time applying for a work visa and finding a part-time job.

Students are the only category of foreigners who, when receiving a residence permit in the Czech Republic, are exempt from having to take a written exam on their knowledge of the Czech language. It is assumed that the student will master it perfectly during training in special courses that are mandatory for all foreign students. The student also does not pass an exam on knowledge of Czech realities of life. A young man is quite capable of adapting to life in a new country if he communicates, lives and receives new information every day among the indigenous people.

A special document that will confirm to the Ministry of Internal Affairs employees the need for your long-term stay in the Czech Republic will be a guarantee letter of invitation from the educational institution where you are going to study. It must contain comprehensive information about the applicant.

Public utilities

The lion's share of earnings is consumed by utilities.
So, whether you like it or not, you will have to learn to save gas, electricity and water. Installation of double water supply meters for private houses (for domestic needs and separately for irrigation), two-tariff light meters (counts at different rates at night and during the day), the use of gas stoves with electric ovens, and a complete transition to solid fuel heating - this is Czech a saving rate, the feasibility of which no one thinks about.

By the way, replacing gas boilers and boilers provides additional savings for property owners - the tax on it is removed for several years.

Clothes and shoes

Regarding fashion trends, Czechs do not pay much attention to style and beauty.
The main thing is that the purchased product lasts a long time, does not require “major” repairs and has maximum convenience. In order to spend the least amount of money, Czechs try to buy shoes and clothing during the so-called discount period: in the summer - winter clothes and, conversely, on New Year and Christmas - clothes for the summer wardrobe. Otherwise, residents prefer to use the services of online stores that “throw” branded items onto the market at an attractive price.

Transport

Transport should also be used wisely.
It is always a good idea to buy a one-month pass, because it can be used for all types of transport, with the exception of taxis.

If only one person intends to use it, then it is better to order an individual travel card with a photo. “Family” passes (anyone can take it, from a family member to an acquaintance) are more expensive due to the uncertainty of the owner.

Free riders are subject to the strictest monetary punishment. Local authorities even have the right to raise the issue of canceling a visa for a “hare” who has committed a fine.

In turn, buses and metro are never late and run exactly on schedule.

Bicycles are an excellent and environmentally friendly alternative to buses and subways. Moreover, good comfortable conditions have been created for cyclists: separate bike paths and parking lots. Bicycles, like cars, are rented and are available to everyone.

Residence permit for investors

Business immigration to the Czech Republic is a common phenomenon, since local legislation offers very attractive conditions for running your own business. It is especially loyal to novice entrepreneurs. You can either open your own company and start operations, or invest in a ready-made business in the country.

A lenient tax system, concessions for beginning businessmen, and the absence of bribery and corruption on a Russian scale allow even the least successful businessman to get on his feet quite firmly. You can swing for a long time: you are allowed to work from scratch for almost three years. But in the remaining two, the company must begin to generate significant income, otherwise local law enforcement agencies will become interested in it, and the owner will be suspected of opening a “lantern” in order to obtain a residence permit in the Czech Republic.

A business visa does not oblige an entrepreneur to reside permanently in the country.

Having such a document, you can conduct business in all countries of the Schengen area, periodically returning to the Czech Republic. This will be enough to avoid losing a residence permit, and after the end of the required period to obtain permanent residence. A special document that will confirm to the Ministry of Internal Affairs employees the need for your long-term stay in the Czech Republic will be evidence of investing a large amount in a Czech business. This can be either your own company or partnerships with already operating companies.

Rest

Thanks to their exceptionally advantageous location and actual resort status, the Czechs have a real opportunity to save significantly on their vacation. The Czech Republic is famous for its resorts all over the world, so its residents do not need to separately accumulate funds in order to relax. Unlike many of their neighboring countries, the owners of resort and entertainment areas make significant financial concessions to their compatriot clients.

Obtaining permanent residence is the next step for an immigrant

In order to successfully complete this procedure, and not waste time collecting papers and visiting the local police station, a number of conditions must be met. The main one is considered to be staying in the Czech Republic with a residence permit for at least five years. Your relationship with the law will also play an important role. If there were no problems, including violations of the visa regime, then permanent residence will be provided.

To obtain it, you must submit a number of documents.

  • A completed application form, which will also serve as an application for permanent residence;

  • Valid passport and copy, standard photographs;
  • Papers confirming your right to stay in the country and the purpose of your visit;
  • Confirmation of your financial solvency and provision of housing;
  • Certificate of absence of problems with the law both in your country and in the Czech Republic;
  • Medical insurance;
  • Results of the exam on knowledge of the Czech language and everyday life (except for students).

The list of documents in 2021 will remain the same. No fundamental changes in legislation and the activities of migration services are expected.

Obtaining permanent residence gives a foreigner almost the same advantages as a citizen of this country, with the exception of the right to vote. In addition to choosing the ruling elite, an immigrant can count on:

  • education for your children;
  • employment under the same conditions as citizens of this country;
  • payment of pensions and social benefits provided for by Czech legislation;
  • receiving medical care, including free for children for the entire duration of their studies (usually up to 26 years of age).

And after five years of living in the Czech Republic with permanent residence status, you can already try to obtain local citizenship - the last stage of a foreigner’s integration into society and his becoming a full-fledged citizen of this country.

Residence permit for family reunification

There were changes to the current legislation in 2014. In the context of this issue, they can be considered as concessions. Obtaining a residence permit in the Czech Republic to start a family has become objectively easier. This paragraph includes marriage with a citizen of the Czech Republic. If one of the spouses has a Czech passport, then the second has the right to come to this country and live with him. Only documents need to be submitted at the Czech embassy of the country of the second spouse.

Until 2008, marriage was the basis for issuing permanent residence and was not annulled after divorce. The authorities considered that this was leading to an increase in the number of fictitious marriages, and decided not to issue permanent residence permits. It was replaced by a residence permit.

To obtain the next legal status, you need to live with your spouse for at least three years, and then prove that your relationship is real and sincere.

Only after going through this not very pleasant procedure can you apply for permanent residence. A special document that will confirm to employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs the need for your long-term stay in the Czech Republic will be a marriage certificate.

Family reunification also includes moving to your close relatives. These could be children who moved to the Czech Republic a long time ago: first they studied, then stayed to work, and then received Czech citizenship. They will have to prove that it is necessary for their parents to move in with them, since older people need constant care.

Another option is possible when children or children with one parent will emigrate to the Czech Republic. Then the discovered relatives will need to go through the procedure of establishing kinship. Currently, DNA testing is not required for this. Certificates and papers confirming kinship will serve as a special document that will confirm to employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs the need for your long-term stay in the Czech Republic.
