Registration accounting
The service includes several sections:
- Registration at the place of residence by putting a registration mark in the passport or issuing a certificate for minors;

Obtaining citizenship

Registration of temporary residence permit
A temporary residence permit (TRP) secures the right of a foreigner or stateless person to reside in our country until receiving a residence permit. It is issued on a special form, or by putting a mark on an identity document. Persons over 18 years of age living on the territory of the Russian Federation can apply for a permit, and outside its borders the service is available at consulates and diplomatic missions of the Russian Federation. Their legal representatives will act on behalf of minors. The document is issued for a period of 3 years.
Resident card
A residence permit can be issued to foreign citizens and stateless persons who have lived in our country for at least one year on the basis of a temporary residence permit. Moreover, documents to obtain it must be submitted to the Department of Migration Affairs at the authorized place of residence no later than 6 months before the expiration of the temporary residence permit, and if the person participates in the resettlement program, then no later than 2 months.
A residence permit allows you to move freely around the country, including regular exit/entry. It is issued as a separate identity document for a period of 5 years with the possibility of unlimited extension. A residence permit can be granted without a temporary residence permit to the following categories of persons:
- Citizens of Belarus, Turkmenistan and persons moving from the territory of Turkmenistan;
- Highly qualified foreign specialists and members of their families.
After receiving a residence permit, you must submit a notification of your location to the GUVM department every year.
Checking the readiness of a foreign passport

Verification of invalid old-style foreign passports valid for 5 years
Online verification is applicable only to old-style international passports that do not have electronic media.

Refugee ID

What functions does the GUVM perform?

Work permit
Foreign citizens have the right to official employment in our country on the basis of two documents: a patent and a work permit in Russia. Patents are provided to migrants from the CIS countries, and permits are provided to visa foreigners.

Work permits in Russia are issued for one year and are valid only in one subject of the Russian Federation and with a specific employer.
