Visa to Hungary for Russians 2021 – 2021: documents, application form, how to do it yourself

All Russian citizens who are planning to go to Hungary during their next vacation must first take care of obtaining the appropriate permit.

Since today this state is included in the list of countries that have signed the Schengen Agreement, in the vast majority of cases applicants are provided with a Schengen visa, with which, if necessary, they can also travel to other European countries.

A Russian citizen who wishes to obtain such a permit will have to contact the consular department of the Hungarian Embassy located in Moscow, having previously made an appointment online.

Procedure for obtaining a permit

In order to obtain permission, a person must, together with the above list of documents, contact the nearest diplomatic mission of Hungary by appointment. After this, authorized employees of this institution will have to accept his application along with the rest of the papers for processing, which, together with the issuance of the visa itself, takes in most cases no more than one week, but in some situations it takes up to two.

If necessary, through the official website of the representative office, you can constantly monitor the status of the submitted application so as not to worry about the possibility of refusal to provide a permit.

Once the visa has been issued, a corresponding notification will be indicated not only on the website, but will also be sent to the phone number or email address specified during the application registration process.

After receiving this notification, the applicant must re-apply to the diplomatic mission to obtain his passport.

Filling

The application form for a visa to Hungary is filled out by the applicant using a computer, after which the file is printed and personally signed on all 4 pages. It should be printed on a pair of standard sheets on both sides. Each page must be personally signed by the applicant with the exception of:

  1. incapacitated persons and minor children. The application is signed for them by a legal representative;
  2. persons who are physically unable to sign documents due to health conditions. The hand-applyer leaves a signature for them.

Errors or abbreviations are not allowed when filling out. All names are indicated in full.

Attention! The discovery of false information in the application form practically guarantees a refusal of a visa, because all the information in it can be verified by a telephone call or request. The likelihood of being checked is high, especially if a long-term national visa is requested.

The form must be filled out in English or Hungarian; you can also fill it out in Russian, but use transliteration. You must answer all 37 questions; if any of the points does not apply to you, then just put “no”.

Basic Rules

The procedure for filling out the application form has not undergone any special changes, and the application for receiving this document, as before, can be pre-downloaded from the official website of the diplomatic mission. The document can be filled out by hand or on a computer, but either Russian or English must be used.

Requirements for the application form itself

  • all information must be provided in full accordance with the available documentation, since any errors will ultimately lead to a refusal to issue a visa;
  • if the applicant has close relatives living in Hungary or the European Union, it is not necessary to fill out the column on professional activities;
  • the dates of departure and entry into the country should be indicated approximately, but it is best in practice to still adhere to the indicated numbers;
  • if a person visits Hungary by invitation, you need to write information about the inviting organization or a specific person in the appropriate column;
  • if close relatives live in the European Union, information about them should be indicated in the application form;
  • There must be information about the type of funds that the tourist plans to take with him on the trip.

From this we can conclude that you can fill out the application form on paper only after a visit to the consulate. You cannot download the form to fill out. But if you need to fill out the form at a time convenient for you, you can use the online filling service.

In what case can they give a negative answer?

The Hungarian government is loyal to Russian tourists. Refusal of a visa on their part is very rare. Hungary is a hospitable country and welcomes everyone who wants to spend a holiday within its borders. There are several main reasons for failures:

  • Previous visa refusals to other countries, including the European Union. To avoid such a situation, it is necessary to attach a letter to the package of documents indicating an explanation for the previous refusal.
  • Violation of passport regulations on previous trips.
  • Violating the rules of the country and having problems with the law.
  • In case of a single deportation, the possibility of obtaining consent to visit Hungarian territory is small.
  • Errors in the application or incomplete set of documents.
  • The information provided was not confirmed during verification.
  • Expiration of the passport.

Review period

Once the application form has been filled out, all the paperwork has been collected, the visa and, if necessary, service fee has been paid, and your documents have been accepted for consideration, it should take 7 to 10 business days before you receive a final decision. Consular officials recommend submitting an application no later than 2 weeks before departure, and preferably earlier.

If the documents are processed not through the Hungarian visa center, but through intermediaries, a travel agency or any other organization, then it is better to leave enough time to obtain a visa in case of force majeure. Applications for national visas are accepted only at the consular department by appointment. The period for reviewing a package of documents may be extended.

Visa centers, embassies and consulates: addresses

Documents for obtaining entry consent are submitted to the consular department of the Hungarian Consulate. Applications are accepted by prior appointment. To schedule an interview, you need to contact the consulate at (495) 796-93-77

There are four application acceptance points on the territory of the Russian Federation.

  • There is a Consulate General in St. Petersburg. Documents are submitted from Tuesday to Friday, and issued on any weekday. Address in St. Petersburg – Marata Street, building 15.
  • Another Consulate General is located in Yekaterinburg on Gogol Street, building 15. Documents are accepted on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
  • In addition, applications are accepted at Pony Express centers located in almost all major cities.

Refusal to obtain a visa stamp

The main reasons for refusal to obtain a Hungarian visa are:

  • Unspecified purpose of trip to Hungary.
  • Incomplete package of papers.
  • Violations of the migration regime in the past.
  • Lack of sufficient material support.
  • Suspicions arise among diplomatic mission employees regarding their intention to enter the country for the purpose of illegal employment.

The consulate usually does not give the reason for the refusal. It is encrypted in written form in the form of alphabetic symbols, where the letter indicates the type of visa requested, and the number indicates the reason for refusal.

Cost and production time to order

When planning a trip to a country with a visa regime, travelers think about the cost of obtaining a visa, issuance times and ways to obtain approval faster.

Price

How much a visa to Hungary costs is the main question for tourists. The cost of a category A and B visa for Russian citizens is 35 euros. Additionally, you will need to pay a consular fee of 20 euros. The price of a long-term visa is 60 euros. Children under six years of age are given a permit free of charge.

The timing of obtaining a visa certificate depends on the planned time of stay in the country. Short-term is issued within 10 days. Registration of consent for long-term stay will take up to two months.

If all requirements of the consulate are met when submitting, the permit is issued within 2 weeks. To check the readiness of the document, the status of the document and the stage of its consideration are noted in the personal account on the embassy website.
