Features of obtaining a visa to Denmark

How and where to get a visa to Denmark

An exit visa can be obtained from the Royal Embassy, which is located in Moscow, or from one of the visa centers. Applying for a Schengen visa to Denmark on your own involves submitting an application to the embassy or one of the specialized visa centers open in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other cities of Russia.

The advantage of this independent method of obtaining a visa to Denmark is that you can immediately take a photo and submit your fingerprints. The procedure takes about 5 minutes and the results will be valid for 5 years.

To enter Denmark for tourism purposes or to visit individuals, as well as for business trips, you must obtain a Schengen visa (category C) single or multiple entry (multiple visa). If you receive a long-term visa for 5 years, you can stay in Denmark for no more than 90 days during each six-month period (180 days). In case of flight through Denmark to a non-Schengen country, a Danish transit visa is issued.

To obtain an entry permit you must:

  • Determine the type of visa you need.
  • Collect all necessary papers.
  • Arrive at the visa center during opening hours (in Moscow, sign up in advance on the official website).
  • Pay consular and visa fees.
  • Go through the fingerprinting procedure.
  • Submit documents for consideration.
  • After the agreed period, pick up the visa (or receive it by mail).

Depending on what type of visa document you are applying for, the processing time for applications varies. Next, we will talk about the categories of visas and the conditions for obtaining them.

Do Russians need a visa to Denmark?

Residents of the Russian Federation who have expressed a desire to visit the Kingdom of Denmark are required to independently obtain an entry document. Denmark is part of the Schengen zone, so the rules for issuing travel documents require going through the same procedure as when obtaining a visa to the Schengen zone.

The issuance of visas to the kingdom is carried out by the Danish Embassy and visa centers, united under the auspices of the VFS.GLOBAL company, located in major cities of our country. The Danish Embassy considers requests from Russians wishing to re-enter the country - re-entry.

Visa centers

Visiting visa centers does not require prior arrangement. The time for the visit can be agreed upon by telephone, with the exception of the Moscow office, for a visit to which you will need to make an appointment. Moreover, in Moscow the options “Mobile biometrics”, “Personal assistant”, “Home visa”, “Premium service hall” are available.

After processing the documents and collecting biometric data, the visa center sends the collected materials for consideration to the Danish Embassy. If a positive decision is made, a visa is affixed to the applicant’s foreign passport, allowing him to travel throughout Europe. Through the VC you can also obtain a residence permit in Denmark.

Embassy

The Danish Embassy or Consulate issues visas and considers requests from Russians for all types of documents, and also issues residence permits. Citizens are received by appointment only 2 hours a day, so Russians are more comfortable using the services of visa centers.

Types of visas to Denmark

The holder of a visa to the Kingdom of Denmark may not limit himself to traveling to one country and visit other European countries. A valid visa opens up the opportunity to see the whole of Europe.

If you are considering this option, remember that when visiting several countries, it is important to submit an application to the embassy of the country where you plan to stay the longest. If you split your tourist route equally, Denmark should be the country through which you enter the Schengen area.

A visa to Denmark for Russians in 2021 is divided into several types. Depending on them, you must collect documents. A Schengen visa category C to the Kingdom is issued for the following purposes:

A document that gives a foreigner the right to cross the border of the Kingdom and carry out work is called a work visa. The period for obtaining such a permit can be up to 3 months.

What visa do you need for Denmark?

This is what a Schengen visa to Denmark category C looks like.
Tourists who want to travel to Denmark must obtain an entry document to this country or use a Schengen-type permit from another country, for example, France or Sweden. But at the same time, it is necessary to adhere to certain rules of state immigration law.

To figure out what kind of visa is needed for Denmark for Russians, you should decide on the purpose of the visit. The Kingdom issues different entry documents.

The most popular is a tourist visa , which is issued to travelers who want to see the sights of the state. You can go for tourism purposes not only by plane, but also by car or ferry. Regardless of the type of vehicle, a Schengen visa to Denmark category C is issued.

But if the transfer and subsequent flight are intended to a non-Schengen country, then you need to apply for a Danish transit visa.

Another Danish visa is a guest or invitation visa . It is intended for tourists who go to visit their relatives and friends officially living in the territory of the Danish kingdom.

No less relevant is a business visa , which is intended for tourists solving business issues in the state.

Students wishing to study in the country apply for a student visa.

Travelers who enter into a permanent work agreement in Denmark or who wish to reunite with a family living in the state must obtain a residence permit.
