Obtaining a visa on arrival

Visa categories

Checkpoint "Arava"
The Arava checkpoint is located on the Jordanian-Israeli border near Eilat. Previously, foreigners crossing the border at this point had to comply with the general rules of entry into Aqaba. That is, you can visit the zone on your own or as part of a tour group, if the duration of the visit does not exceed one month and the exit will also be made through one of the Aqaba checkpoints. - Entry is possible only as part of an organized group. In this case, information about travelers must be transmitted to the checkpoint two days before the trip.
- Tourists planning to stay less than 2 nights are required to pay a visa fee of 40 JOD (about $57) and an additional ASEZA fee of 20 Jordanian dinars (about $28).
- If travelers intend to spend less than 2 nights in Jordan but plan to visit Petra, they are exempt from paying the ASEZA fee.
- If your visit to Jordan lasts longer than 2 nights, you do not need to pay fees.
Subtleties of entry through Israel
Those entering Jordan through the Eilat Aqaba checkpoint are required to pay a fee for leaving Israel. It is equal to 105 shekels per person. Another 5 shekels is taken as a commission for the group. If 1 person travels, you will have to pay as a group. The payment procedure is accompanied by filling out a special form, which should be kept until the end of the trip.
