Rules for filling out information about citizenship
Practice shows that errors when filling out the citizenship column are not uncommon, even if state citizenship is accurately indicated. Rules on how to correctly write citizenship in a job application will help you avoid typical shortcomings:
- Citizenship is indicated in full on the form. That is, the name of the state is written without abbreviations in the nominative case.
- The question often arises, what citizenship to write in the application form - Russian Federation, Russia or the Russian Federation? “Russian Federation” is written in the column. You cannot write “Russia”, “In Russia” or “RF”. Some types of surveys allow such writing, but it is better not to risk it and write in generally accepted language. In this case, even a strict inspector will not be able to find fault with the filling.
- It is important to know how to write Belarusian citizenship in documents. It must be said right away that the abbreviation RB cannot be used. But the question arises, how to write “Belarus” or “Belorussia” correctly. Both options have a right to exist. This is explained as follows.
According to the rules of the Russian language, the second option is considered correct. The first is used in the state itself, and Belarus is a Russian name. Therefore, in the paragraph citizenship on the territory of the Russian Federation, this option should be indicated.
But at the same time, in the Russian Federation there is a special classifier, where all countries are registered with their correct names. The latest changes were made to it in 2014. And here it is indicated that the correct name of the country is Belarus. And therefore it can be used to denote citizenship.
- Sometimes, when applying for a job, the abbreviation RF, when indicating Russian citizenship, can be used, but this does not apply to all organizations and positions. For example, when hiring for the Federal Bailiff Service, a reduction is unacceptable. Moreover, the word “citizen” is additionally written. That is, the entry in the column looks like this: “Citizen of the Russian Federation”.
- It is especially important to take into account the rules for filling out the citizenship column when preparing documents for migration services. They are especially strict about filling out papers. No abbreviations are acceptable here, even if the person has sparse handwriting and state affiliation is not included entirely on the form line. You can't cut off a sentence either. It is better to try to make the recording more compact.
- When preparing the following documents: passports, both internal and foreign, when submitting papers for a residence permit or permit for temporary residence in the country, when registering citizenship, an incorrectly filled out citizenship column, including one written with an abbreviation, will lead to refusal in issuing such permits.
Taking this into account, you should strictly follow all the rules for processing documents with a citizenship column.
